The commercial printing division of inkjet printer manufacturer Domino will exhibit the latest products from its range of variable data printers at the Graphexpo exhibition in Chicago (USA) next month (Stand 3642).

The On Demand, a variable data printing system comprising estimating, pre-press, proofing and printing modules, will provide the centrepiece of Domino's portfolio.

Domino will showcase a four-head system, demonstrating its ability to print multiple colours with solvent inks on a wide range of substrates.

On Demand is said to allow the user to add variable data to a job whilst saving time and set up costs by allowing the pre-press operator to design, layout and proof the job long before it reaches final print production.

Graphexpo will see Domino exhibit the system in conjunction with a Buhrs, off-line mail table.

The new Bitjet+ printer, an enhanced version of its Bitjet binary printer will also be on show.

The Jetarray high-speed inkjet printer, which is claimed to be capable of printing up to eight lines of fully variable information in one pass, will also be displayed.

Completing the company's line-up the A-Series, which the company believes to be the world's best-selling continuous inkjet printer.

Domino will link two Bitjet+ units and a Jetarray to a Heidelberg ST400 stitcher during the show, demonstrating the ability to selectively insert and variably print the corresponding product with inside - outside matching capabilities.

The system will be driven by Domino's Editor GT controller, an inkjet controller package, that is said to offer users complete control by managing up to eight configurable print heads anywhere on the line.

At Graphexpo, the Jetarray will print upside down on a plough-opening station, showing its versatility and ability to print in any print orientation, said the company.

Domino's A-Series printer will show the application of printing inside the pocket to add another dimension to variable printing throughout the complete stitcher line.

David Ellen, Domino's director of commercial printing sales, commented: "Graphexpo offers the opportunity to prove that Domino is the industry's frontrunner in high speed, VDP applications.

We are particularly excited at demonstrating the numerous benefits of On Demand in front of a mass audience, as this proved very popular with visitors at Drupa." Domino will also be exhibited at the show by Axode Corp - (stand 3377) Buhrs Americas (stand 810), Research (stand 3686) SITMA USA (stand 2674) and Sure-Feed Engineering (stand 636).
