Inkjet Controller Reduces Numbering Mistakes

The commercial printing division of inkjet printer manufacturer Domino has launched a new Editor GT inkjet controller, designed specifically for numbering applications.
The company said the controller is based on the proven Editor GT controller for addressing and the latest variant has been enhanced to suit the specific requirements for inkjet numbering.
Editor GT is aid to enable the production of numbers on a web, tickets tags and labels and sheet and roll numbering, as well as security numbers with modulus number options.
The new controller package is based on Windows NT and XP and features a graphic user interface that makes full use of window graphics and networking capabilities.
The controller operates with the same hardware as the existing platform and offers a number of efficiency-driven enhancements, said Domino.
Intuitive screens on the numbering controller are made to facilitate the generation of numeric sequences and reduce mistakes.
Sequences can be made to accommodate travel of product, the number of print heads across the product, products in a roll or along a sheet, or numbering through a stack.
Benefits to commercial print users, include increased efficiency through the ability to generate all number sequences in-house.
Job set-up is improved as numbers are made on-line, resulting in reduced prepress times, claimed the company.
Editor GT supports any combination of Domino's range of inkjet printers up to a maximum of 16 Domino On Demand inkjet heads, 20 A-Series inkjet heads and eight for the Bitjet+ in any position on the production line.
