Domino Amjet said that it generated significant interest with its line up of variable data printing technology at Print '05, as well as integration with OEM equipment.

Domino integrated the Bitjet+, Jetarray and A-Series with an Editor GT Controller in to the Heidelberg ST400 stitcher to provide personalisation of stitched books, with selective inside outside printing and barcode verification with an Axode camera system.

David Ellen, the vice president of sales at Domino Amjet, commented: "Print '05 proved to be one of our best shows yet.

We not only met with a number of existing Domino clients that sought new capabilities to offer their customers but also welcomed a number of new accounts.

The value of orders taken in the first few days of the show far exceeded the total amount of business brought in both during and in the immediate aftermath of last year's Graphexpo exhibition, we estimate it to be over $1,000,000." Amongst those investing in Domino's technology was bindery company, American Web of Denver, whose Clark Fine said: "We had our eyes on Domino in the run up to the show.

Having assessed the technology on offer from all suppliers, we believe that Domino's package is the right choice for us.

The Bitjet+ is an awesome piece of kit and will increase our efficiency and reduce job turn-around immensely." Meanwhile, Dome Printing, of Sacramento, California (USA) purchased a Jetarray variable data ink jet printer and Editor GT Controller package.

The Domino equipment will be utilised in a variable data printing application centering on the printing of addresses in a magazine between stitching and stacking equipment.

Dome's latest investment follows the recent purchase of two of Domino's new Bitjet+ binary printers.

Unveiled at Print '05, the Bitjet+ is designed for high-speed VDP applications and is an evolution of Domino's Bitjet 212.

Commenting on the reasons for his company's investment, Andy Poole, Dome's general manager, said: "Domino's expertise and knowledge of the marketplace is second to none and we were impressed with the way the company worked closely with us to ensure it was fully appreciative of our exact requirements.

Having now delivered a solution to match those needs, Domino's products basically move us away from the need to outsource four and half thousand mail pieces per month, to being completely self sufficient.

That ability to become a sole source provider to our own customers significantly increases our services to them and enables us to provide a full service, one-stop-shop operation." Domino sales manager, Tom Bertke, added: "As a company we are committed to serving the needs of our customers with integrated systems that are not only of the highest quality and reliability but fits their specific requirements.

We are delighted to have been able to fulfill the expectations of so many customers during Print '05.".
