Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Oct 3, 2006

Domino Printing Sciences has launched a new company-wide initiative, which has resulted in the introduction of a range of new products and services across its product portfolio.

Domino Printing Sciences has launched a new company-wide initiative, which has resulted in the introduction of a range of new products and services across its product portfolio.

Known as the Plus Programme, it has already resulted in the launch of the new C-Series plus range, an extension to the company's outer case coders, ancillaries and software, and Totalcare plus, a new support programme, which were both launched at the PPMA 2006 exhibition.

Further extensions of Domino's product ranges as part of its Plus Programme will be announced in the coming weeks, said the company.

The focus of the Plus initiative has centred around the introduction of greater functions and productivity enhancements to its existing proven technologies to meet the growing demands of its customer base.

The objective of the Plus programme is to deliver systems aimed at improving the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations, through increased productivity, flexibility and quality, said Domino.

Nigel Bond, group managing director for Domino Printing Sciences, said: "Since our equipment is generally installed on to or in to a manufacturing production line, it is absolutely vital that we remain totally in tune with our partners in the manufacturing environment to address the increasing challenges they face." He added: "As an award-winning technology developer and manufacturer ourselves, Domino fully appreciates the demands of the modern manufacturing operation and we believe it is this unique understanding that has enabled Domino to continue to deliver systems that add real productivity benefits.

Domino's new Plus programme is centred around building on our existing proven technologies, and we have spent considerable time and resources over the past months working alongside our manufacturing partners to gain a full understanding of the key issues faced by manufacturers today." As a result, Domino is rolling out a range of new systems to address their needs, to improve their competitiveness, productivity and overall business performance, he explained.

Domino's latest Plus range of products is claimed to offer a step forward in performance capabilities, complementing its core product ranges and it provides a product portfolio with enhancements to increase production efficiencies and output.

New features include enhanced connectivity, remote diagnostic systems and open system platforms, all focussed on delivering high levels of print quality output and high levels of equipment effectiveness, cost predictability and overall performance, added the company.

Domino's new C-Series Plus range of inkjet outer case coders is the first of its latest generation technologies to be launched within the Plus programme, and it is available in the C1000+, C3000+ and C6000+ variants.

The range is said to have new printer software embracing the open systems approach, as well as new interface tools, Ethernet and database connectivity.

The C-Series Plus also benefits from Domino's multihead base, a high capacity ink system particularly suitable for high throughput production lines, it is said.

Complementing the launch of the Plus product ranges, Domino has also introduced a new support programme called Totalcare Plus .

The Totalcare Plus service covers a range of support services, including technical support, training, servicing and warranties, consumables and after sales products, and it is matched to the varying needs of its customers.

Added Nigel Bond: "This is a significant milestone for Domino in its strategic development, to ensure we stay abreast of our customers' needs and in turn, deliver systems that match the increasing challenges in the manufacturing arena.

Whilst Domino's Plus programme has certainly touched all areas of the business and have resulted in some outstanding product introductions to the market, we will continue our commitment to push innovation to the limit and ensure our products and our service philosophy remains second to none.".
