Domino Printing Sciences will use Emballage 2006 for the European premier of products and services that comprise its new Plus Programme.

Domino Printing Sciences will use Emballage 2006 for the European premier of products and services that comprise its new Plus Programme The Plus Programme is intended to improve the overall effectiveness of users' operations by addressing the common causes of downtime, speed losses and defects

Domino said that the Plus Programme comprises the new A-Series Plus range, an enhanced version of the continuous ink jet printer range - claimed to provide increased availability, performance and quality - and the C-Series Plus range, an extension to Domino's outer case coders, ancillaries and software.

The initiative also features the S-Series Plus range of laser printers that are said to provide letter quality codes and increased productivity and flexibility.

In addition, Emballage 2006 will also see Domino's Totalcare Plus, a new support programme for the Plus range of products.

At Emballage 2006, visitors to the Domino stand will be presented with production environments allowing different functional levels from varying sized organisations to experience the benefits of the Plus products within a variety of applications, from simple to more sophisticated scenarios, said the company.

By offering interactive demonstrations, Domino believes that visitors can trial the interface of the Plus printers to test some of the new functions and improvements that have been introduced to the range, including message creation and selection, as well as a remote network and data management.

Complementing the launch of the Plus product ranges, Domino will also use Emballage 2006 to promote Totalcare Plus support.

Designed to maximise customers' total uptime, the Totalcare Plus service covers a tailor-made range of after-market support services, including technical support, training, servicing and warranties, consumables and after sales products to match the varying needs of its customers, said the company.

Yann Gorrity, general manager of Domino France, commented: "Domino Plus focuses on greater functions and productivity enhancements to our existing proven technologies to meet growing customer demands.

Its launch fulfils a key objective of providing products that improve manufacturing efficiencies and offer customers the competitive edge to stay ahead of their rivals." Domino claimed that the Plus Programme sets new standards for manufacturers eager to embrace lean manufacturing, focusing on value-added activities, which continuously reduce wasteful practices whilst increasing profitability and maximising overall equipment effectiveness.

The company said that key to the success of its latest coding systems is the ability to integrate its equipment in to manufacturers' existing production lines to improve their profitability and competitiveness.

In addition, Domino will demonstrate its integrated systems and RFID product traceability capabilities, that are said to be suitable for global deployment.

Combining RFID and composite coding capabilities, customers will see the printing of both conventional and Datamatrix codes from individual item level, through to pallet marking and RFID tagging, said Domino.

Following the recent acquisition by Domino of print and apply systems company, Mectec Elektronik, Emballage 2006 will see Domino exhibit print and apply labelling products from Mectec's range.

They are claimed to meet customer and application requirements for secondary and pallet labelling that are unachievable using ink jet systems.

The range is said to complement Domino's current C-Series Plus ink jet coders that are claimed to allow customers to select the best option for their coding needs and working practices - for example, where the substrate is more suited to print and apply, such as for shrink-wrapped trays.
