Flexible Drop On Demand Print For
Plastic Cards
Fast, cost-efficient numbering, personalisation, graphics and verified security code printing on to plastic cards will be demonstrated by Domino at the Cartes 2007 exhibition.
On stand 3F 094, Domino will show its K-Series drop on demand inkjet printer for high resolution print, using a new UV-cure UV55BK black ink Also on display will be the Domino A-Series CP, a variant of what is claimed to be the world's best-selling continuous inkjet printer, as well as its Bitjet + binary printer driven by a Domino Editor GT controller

Beshara Press, the niche printing company for the software publishing industry, has invested in a Domino A400 to produce unique numbers on the back cover of manuals.
The K-Series features a flexible configuration for easy integration in to existing plastic card production lines and a number of design and performance enhancements to respond to the most demanding applications for fast, variable data printing without compromising on print quality, said Domino.
In addition, the UV55BK black ink has been designed specifically to increase the performance capabilities of the K-Series and provides improved print quality on to a range of substrates, such as PVC, polycarbonate, calendared card, semi-porous media, ABS and coated paper.
Domino will also feature its high speed A-Series CP, demonstrating its reliability for printing variable data, serial numbering, batch and data coding and graphics at speed within existing production lines, added the company.

Domino has made the shipment of its 50,000th A-Series printer - what it claims to be the world's best-selling continuous inkjet printer.
The A-Series CP is also said to offer a simple one button start-up and shut down and an ink system that uses large internal reservoirs and a nozzle seal, eliminating the need for persistent, manual cleaning.
Also on show will be the latest Bitjet+ binary ink jet printer and Editor GT Controller.
Integrated in to existing production lines, the Bitjet + is claimed to provide uninterrupted personalisation for such applications as addressing, numbering, graphics and barcodes.
The Bitjet+ is operated from the Editor GT Windows XP based controller, which combines data preparation and management tools for in-line printing of addresses, personalised data, graphics, unique and serialised numbers and codes.
Domino Printing Sciences' product director of commercial print, Philip Easton, said: "As the plastic card market continues to grow, so too does the demand for flexible, high resolution and secure data printing.
Through our versatile range of ink jet printers, Domino can offer a system for virtually all information and numbering requirements on to plastic cards." He added: "Our systems can easily cater for personalisation, card numbering, dating and serialisation, membership details, graphics and logos, as well as the increasing demand for secure data and verification using OCR and magnetic-stripe readers, camera and barcode recognition to ensure 100 per cent matching between card and carrier.".
