Drive Lines Technologies has announced the launch of a new, low cost web cleaner from Europe's most experienced manufacturer, Wandres Micro-cleaning.

The Wandres Sword Brush is a contact web cleaner that uses proven linear brushing and the Ingromat Micro-Moistening technology to remove both dust and static charges.

Linear brushing wipes the web or sheet from edge to edge, or middle to edge for fragile or very thin materials.

'Kiss' contact ensures no web path disturbance and long brush life - said to be typically 5,000 hours.

The brush carries debris to the point of extraction, at the edge of the material, for disposal.

The brush is comprehensively cleaned before returning to the material surface.

The Ingromat fluid is applied to the brush in a continuous fine spray to lightly dampen the brush filaments.

The moisture provides a path for electro-static charge removal and allows very fine particles to stick to the brush.

Particles in the micron area are effectively removed.

Widths from 300mm to 3,200mm, extremely small dimensions and low power consumption make Sword brush particularly suitable for retrofit situations, said Drive Lines.

F lexographic, lithographic, gravure and screen process can all benefit from the use of the Sword Brush and Wandres equipment is a standard accessory for a number of leading press suppliers, added the company.

Longer plate and blanket life, better ink performance and longer runs between wash-downs ensure higher quality and productivity.
