The latest workflow developments will be highlighted before the Drupa 08 exhibition at the Dalim Software users conference in Bordeaux (France) on March 10 and 11.
Production Software Is Ready For Intel-Based Apple
Dalim Software will have established compatibility for the new Intel-processor based Apple Macintosh systems throughout the Dalim Software production automation product line by the end of the year.
Because Dalim Dialogue is said to have the ability to stream data to the browser, clients can view the file in high resolution to approve single and imposed pages from any location in real time.
Users such as printers, publishers, advertising agencies and designers, can offer their customers the ability to view, zoom in and out, navigate (via a Navigator palette), place annotations (virtual post-it notes), draw to highlight areas, take densitometer readings, check production parameters, (page size, resolution, etc) and, even chat in real time.
Furthermore, it is possible for participants to validate files online.
Unlike other systems that require the user to either install a web-browser plug-in, or even download and install a complete client application, Dalim claims its system needs no client software whatsoever, and runs under all current operating systems, such as Macintosh OS X, Windows95, 98, NT, 2000 and XP, Linux, IRIX, and Solaris.
It is also said to perform for multiple users.
Any version of the software allows unlimited client access to the system (dependent on host hardware and internet bandwidth), claimed Dalim.
The system is able to display most popular file formats- such as PDF, PDF/X, Postscript, CT and LW, TIFF, TIFF-IT, TIFF-IT/P1 and uses the latest Java2 and XML technologies.
Dalim expects the product to be available on November 1 2003.
