The 2004 European Dalim Software User Organisation (EuroDUO) Conference in Hamburg attracted close to 100 European Dalim distributors and customers to discuss the company's latest developments.

The 2004 European Dalim Software User Organisation (EuroDUO) Conference just held in Hamburg, Germany, attracted close to 100 European Dalim distributors and customers to discuss the company's latest product developments and preview its new workflows and other products planned for release in 2004 and beyond.

The multilingual event featured an overview of the company's product roadmap over the next two years, including a preview of Twist Version 5, which makes its full public debut at Drupa 2004 in May.

In addition, Dalim Software provided a full update on its aggressive JDF development strategy and production implications - a result of the company's active participation within the CIP4 organisation.

In his keynote at the conference Jasper Scott, manufacturing director of IPC Media, explored the future for repro companies as publishers take on increasing number of production tasks in house.

"Repro houses have to complement us with those services we can't or don't want to do," he said.

"A company that can provide a range of services such as technical development, application services, digital photography and high end retouching services will be a very attractive production partner in the future," he added.

The two-day conference attracted leading companies from across Europe, in print, pre-press, publishing and packaging.

They are users of some or all of Dalim Software's production tools including: Dalim Twist automated workflow, Swing pre-configured workflow modules, Printempo, a fully automated JDF-based print production system and Mistral, the company's internet-based production management and job tracking system.

The meeting also included special guest presentations from Goldmann Druck (Austria), and The Friary Press (UK) describing how the implementation of Dalim based production systems has brought new levels of efficiency and customer service to their businesses.
