Swingray is said to combine the Hermstedt box for secure data transfer by protocols including ADSL, ISDN and ftp with Dalim Software's Swing file normaliser software, all in the same unit.
The conference attracted almost 100 European Dalim distributors and customers to discuss the company's latest product developments and preview its new workflows and products planned for release in 2005 and beyond.
In his keynote speech at the conference Martin Bailey, the chief executive officer of the CIP4 Organisation and senior technical consultant at Global Graphics, provided an update on the JDF development strategy and production implications within the CIP4 organisation.
The two-day conference attracted leading companies from across Europe, in print, pre-press, publishing and packaging including: The Guardian, ICON Reproductions, Keene Group, RR Donnelley, St Ives, Turning Point Technologies, The Fresh Media Group and Wyndeham Argent from the UK.
Also in attendance were Alcan Packaging, Dresdner Druck, Kroha Druck, M and W Media Cooperation, Paulus und Thewalt from Germany, as well as O2i and MPO (France), Joh Enschede Stamps, (Netherlands), Hyphen (Italy) and Zuliani (Switzerland).
Those companies are users of some or all of Dalim Software's production tools including the Twist automated workflow software, the Swing pre-configured workflow modules, Printempo fully-automated JDF-based print production system and Mistral, Dalim Software's internet-based production management and job tracking system.
The meeting also included special guest presentations from Breuhle (Germany), and ICON Reproduction (UK) describing how the implementation of Dalim Software based production systems has brought new levels of efficiency and customer service to their businesses.
