Dalim Software's Dialogue received 'Must See Em' honours during Print 05 in Chicago (USA).

Dialogue has received recognition in the past - receiving Graphexpo's 'Worth a Look' recognition as well as a Macworld Best of Show Award.

Dialogue v3.1 provides on-line ability for remote and collaborative viewing and soft proofing of files on all current client operating systems via the internet.

Dialogue can integrate with a range of third-party automated workflows either via hot folders or directly using JDF.

Users view files in high resolution to approve single and imposed pages from any location in real time.

Customers can view, zoom in and out, navigate, place annotations, take densitometer readings, check production parameters and even 'chat' in real time.

Dalim said that unlike other soft proofing systems requiring the user to either install web-browser plug-ins, or download and install an entire client application, Dialogue is a stand-alone system requiring no client software.

Because it is not an ASP product, there are no click charges or monthly subscription rates for either the host (the printer) or clients when viewing files.

Furthermore, Dialogue's software licensing does not restrict the number of concurrent users.

During 2005, DiALOGUE received SWOP certification with Apple 23" and 30" cinema display HD monitors and the Apple 20-inch iMac computer.

Dialogue will consistently render colour accurately on a monitor-hard copy proofs will match those viewed on screen, even for colour-critical projects.

It is claimed by Dalim to be the only stand-alone SWOP Certified soft proofing application that runs on a Macintosh.

"We are thrilled that Dialogue has once again received recognition from the Executive Outlook judges as a significant product," remarked Carol Werle, Dalim Software's chief executive officer.

"Certainly, the growing popularity in soft proofing must have helped, but we believe that SWOP certification, the easy to use product interface and affordable price structure contributed to this honour," he added.

The Executive Outlook is the traditional pre-show conference designed to provide show visitors with insight in to the industry's changing technology and critical application issues.

One of its highlights is the announcement of the products and exhibits that a panel of the industry's consultants and non-vendor related programme participants consider to be worth Print '05 'Must See 'Em' honours.

They are the products, services and stand demonstrations that the selection panel feels the majority of show-goers should see.

They are the 'buzz word' products, services and exhibition demonstrations.

It is also recognised that there are compelling niche products which, although important to a selected group of printers or converters, are not broadly applicable to most of the exhibition visitors.

Those that are just now becoming available or are still in the early adoption stage are recommended to the show-goer as 'Worth-a-Looks'.
