Production Software Is Ready For Intel-Based Apple
Dalim Software will have established compatibility for the new Intel-processor based Apple Macintosh systems throughout the Dalim Software production automation product line by the end of the year.
Delegates included production managers from UK firms, including EMAP, ICON Reproductions, Keene Group, Rival Colour, Prinovis, Myler and Mueller, Compumedia, Quelle and Ellerhold from Germany.
In addition, Edipro (France), Hachette (Spain) and IKEA (Sweden) were present.
Although primarily a European event, this year's conference on Barcelona (Europe) also attracted its first South American user, Graphicos Burti from Brazil! The two-day Euroduo (European Dalim Software User Organisation) event combined user presentations and product development updates, with technical workshops and demonstrations by complementary third-party vendors.
Quark provided a detailed analysis of Quark v7, whilst latest developments in JDF, colour standards and XML-driven production were additional topics.
The major theme of this year's event was the automation, flexibility and productivity of Dalim Software workflow, management and soft proofing systems driving a range of quality-critical applications in the field, said Dalim.
These ranged from large format display, deadline driven publishing and networked document management, to the streamlined production of 50 editions of 170 million IKEA catalogues.
Steve Emerson, the managing director of TPT, said: "Every year Euroduo exceeds our expectations by attracting the best production brains in the business to network and exchange ideas.
The event plays an important part in fine tuning Dalim Software's product development paths.".
