A Duplo International product story

Duplo has reported that it has witnessed a particularly high level of interest in the latest additions to its print finishing portfolio.

Duplo has reported that it has witnessed a particularly high level of interest in the latest additions to its print finishing portfolio - the DC- 645 Slitter, Creaser and Trimmer, the SCC and the System 5000 booklet makers with two-knife trimmers.

In addition, Duplo's existing range of folders, binders and booklet makers, developed for both offset and digital users, has also continued to generate strong interest.

Dominic Quennell, vice president of marketing at Duplo Corporation commented: "Our new products have been exceptionally well received.

Understanding of the importance of being able to integrate finishing easily into increasingly automated workflows has grown significantly and because our products meet the necessary criteria, we have seen this reflected in increasing levels of orders." The SCC (slit, cut and crease) booklet maker, incorporating a DSF-2000 sheet feeder (with optional barcode reader), the SCC unit, a DBM-500 booklet maker and a DBM-500 trimmer, brings a slit, cut and crease function to the near-line bookletmaking process he added.

He said it could deal with two common issues associated with colour digital output - the correction of image drift and the prevention of image cracking on the fold-line.

Designed to meet offset and digital requirements, the System 5000 booklet making and collating system with three-knife trimming is Duplo's most advanced addition to the booklet making family and has been developed to meet UP3i standardisation, which is a participant of the JDF industry standard claimed the company.

The new DC-645 trims, creases and slits in precisely the right place around the image, thereby reducing waste and ensuring high quality and optimum productivity.

It also combines slitting, trimming and creasing in one single product - so applications requiring these three functions can be handled in a single pass.

The DC-645 can be set up via a USB interface, which is planned in future to be JDF compatible said Duplo.
