The UK school's reprographics officer, Jo Welsh, said: "With our old system, we had to pre-collate stock on the Horizon and then hand-feed the Plockmatic booklet maker, which was extremely time consuming." She added: "The new Duplo collator and booklet maker has an instant and automatic set-up, which makes the process significantly faster for us.
All we need to do is make the selection on the control panel and the DBM-120 does the rest.
Changing between different booklet sizes takes just seconds, which is perfect for us seeing as we produce a variety of different jobs, such as prospectuses, handbooks and school diaries." Operating speeds on the DBM-120 are said to be 2,400 booklets per hour and with the 5,000 staple capacity, it means less downtime for re-loading.
Operators have the opportunity to pre-set 10 applications and can choose between saddle stapling, corner stapling, side stapling or fold only, said Duplo.
Twenty sheets of 80gsm paper can be handled making booklets up to 80 pages long.
