Duplo Signs To Sponsor PrintIT! For Second Year

Duplo International has been quick to continue its support for PrintIT! for a second year following the success of the project.

Duplo International has been quick to continue its support for PrintIT! for a second year following the success of the project in its first year and the company's belief in what PrintIT! is trying to achieve.

Duplo will be providing GBP8,000 worth of equipment plus GBP2,000 in cash prizes.

Jan Jefferies, general manager of Duplo UK, said: "What Picon, the organiser behind PrintIT!, is aiming to achieve deserves the support of everyone in the industry.

It's an extremely well run project and we're delighted to be involved again.

The youngsters who entered last year's competition put a tremendous amount of hard work in to their efforts and the entries that I saw were fantastic." Several schools benefited from Duplo's finishing systems following their success in the first year of the PrintIT! programme and Duplo has provided on-site training where required, along with continuing support.

Jeffries added: "We've tried to look after the schools as if they were customers and so they have normal warranties on equipment and, where relevant, we have introduced them to our local dealer for their area.

We've also learnt from being involved in the first phase of PrintIT! and this year we are donating a range of products from our small desktop finishing series, so that more departments within a school can benefit.

Prizes in year two will include desktop binding equipment, laminators, cutters and punches, which are the sorts of facilities most schools have a need for on a regular basis." Martyn Elmy, chairman of PrintIT! commented: "We're very grateful to Duplo for its continued support of PrintIT! and I know that schools and students appreciate the ability to be able to finish work professionally.

Everyone agrees that PrintIT! is an excellent idea but it would not be possible without the generous support of manufacturers, such as Duplo, which give significant amounts of time to the project, as well as prizes.".
