Duplo's Finishing Equipment Transforms Finishing
The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), based in London, which until recently housed an offset printing operation, now finishes 98% of its printed literature in-house digitally.
Peter Jolly, UK marketing manager at Duplo, commented: "Our new dynamic Duprinter models are more economical, quicker and easier to set up than offset presses and excel over traditional photocopying methods during job runs between 30 and 5,000 copies.
At an affordable price, the profit margins for commercial printers, no matter how small, are huge and with a set up time of just 30 seconds, the Duprinters boost productivity in print rooms and copyshops enormously." The machines print one colour at a the time but change-over takes less than 30 seconds and with 12 standard colours available, plus a matching service, users can select corporate or brand colours as required, said Duplo.
The new LCD user control panel, is said to make it is easy to navigate the machine and customise the settings for optimal results.
The DP-S models also use the faster and more widely available USB type interface, making them fully compatible with PCs and Macs.
Continued Jolly: "We've overhauled the whole look and feel of the Duprinters, making them more ergonomic and giving them the commercial edge needed in today's busy printing environments.
Printers will also benefit from an increased stacking capacity of 1,200 sheets, making the machine ideally suited to short run commercial lengths.
Apart from commercial print markets, the Duprinters are also ideal for other sectors where cost per copy is absolutely vital, such as councils and educational establishments." The DP-S Series also conforms to Japanese Green Purchasing Standards, making it one of the most energy efficient printer-copiers on the market and it has the potential to save the owner up to 90 per cent of his or her energy bill compared to running a toner-based device, according to Duplo.
Once switched on, the new Duprinters can print instantly on to a range of stocks from cards, envelopes, uncoated paper and non-carbon paper at weights of 50gsm - 210gsm, whilst achieving 150 impressions per minute, added the company.
Other new features include a custom multi-up print mode and a preview function allowing users to check the print on the screen before commencing the run.
Additionally, the new DP-S850 Duprinter can automatically detect paper size to ensure the master is cut correctly, resulting in less wastage.
