Encad's New Wide Format Printer At CeBit Show
Encad has announced that its newly launched Novajet 1000i printer will make its debut in Germany at the forthcoming CeBIT show.
Commenting on the success of the Novajet 1000i, Martin Birch, managing director of ENCAD in EAMER, said: "This tremendous achievement is recognition of a print system that stands head and shoulders above the competition in terms of low cost per print, speed and image quality.
The accomplishment is made all the more gratifying given the relatively short period in which such a high number of sales was achieved." Recipient of the 1 000th Novajet 1000i wide-format printer, which won the GATF Intertech Technology Award for 2004, is Dubai-based repro house and service bureau, Mediatech.
The company services the high-end of the marketplace via advertising agencies representing international clients such as L'Oreal, Lancome, Ralph Lauren, Philip Morris, IWC, Vecheron Constantin, Baume-et-Mercier and Emirates Airlines.

Wide Format Printer Quartet In German Print Shop
Encad has started shipping the Novajet 1000i, the first printer jointly developed by Encad and Kodak and early orders have been installed at a number of print-shops throughout Europe.
Colour stability is of critical importance for Mediatech's managing director, Tony Tadros, who operates the Novajet 1000i in conjunction with Kodak media.
Commented Tadros: "We have been delighted with the performance of the NovaJet 1000i wide-format printer since its installation.
Given the superior level of colour stability it offers, it is perfectly suited for the many backlit applications that we produce in airports and shopping malls in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region." For Tadros, the high-level of colour consistency achieved on duratran substrates was the main factor in influencing his decision to choose Encad as his supplier.
"The high degree of humidity and temperature in our region is something that is perhaps not appreciated elsewhere.
That can have a detrimental effect on ink performance such that colour shift becomes an enormous problem, as can UV light which presents its own issues with indoor applications as well as those outside.
Used in conjunction with Kodak wide-format media, the Novajet 1000i certainly performs the best when it comes to retaining vivid colour stability, so important for the high-end of the market in which we operate," he added.
In recognition of its commitment to wide-format inkjet and to align its products under one brand, Kodak last week re-launched the Novajet 1000i printer as the Kodak 1200i wide format package, comprising the Kodak 1200i wide-format printer, Kodak Quantum inks, a portfolio of Kodak wide-format inkjet media and an optional optimised RIP system developed for the Kodak 1200i printing system.
