Edale showcased its Lambda concept at Labelexpo, launching it in to the USA and driving ahead with its new American division.

The company said it has developed a range of typical Lambda off-line systems, which include an RFID and inlay insertion feature, combined with Tamarack P500 RFID technology.

That is claimed to provide a cost-effective and adaptable system, which was in operation at the Labelexpo.

The Lambda can be configured to any single or multiple web paths, enabling the running of multiple jobs simultaneously.

High throughput is achieved through the combination of high production speeds, short job change times and ease of use, claimed Edale.

As a result, the company believes that the investment risk is minimised.

Karl Schmucker, Edale America's president, said: "People lined up in the aisles to watch the Lambda insert RFID inlays.

Once they learned of the versatility of the Lambda, ideas for a multitude of projects came to mind.

Visitors left knowing the Lambda can fulfill many needs, and it will give them the ultimate in creativity for their projects without locking them in to a long-term press arrangement." He added that the Lambda proved so popular that it has stayed behind in America at Tamarck to allow for further live customer demonstrations.

Edale's Alpha press has remained the company's best selling machine because of the options it provides, including down-loading larger presses, replacing older machines, new label start-up and diversifying from sheet offset.

Schmucker explained: "Without another press in the four-colour to five-colour range that can do short run and quick change-over work, being built for the North American market, the Alpha amazed people.

Compliments on its small footprint, high quality print and quick change technology, were made as visitors learned about the quality built in each Edale press." He added that the company's warranty period also attracted a lot of attention: "As one visitor at the show said, 'you don't put a three year warranty on something that has a questionable quality background'.".
