Stationery Producer Invests In Edale Colour Flexo
R.D. Industries, a UK manufacturer of quality activity stationery to the retail and educational sectors, has installed an Edale Alpha flexographic press.
He commenterd: "Edale is providing me with the commercial training I desired and by moving to a dynamic, hands-on company, I'm gaining a much better understanding of how a business is run as a whole.
The company is entirely different to my previous position where I felt pigeon-holed in to the same role day in day out.
I am constantly drawing on the skills I built up as a design engineer and have no doubt that without my degree, I couldn't be performing my role to the same ability." The Lambda concept is claimed by Edale to be the first of its kind.
Developed through experience in the manufacture of value-added printing and converting machinery the Lambda is said to offer a bespoke but flexible system capable of reconfiguration and upgrade.
The basic building block of the Lambda 'plug and play' technology is a standard base unit - depending on the complexity of the required job the Lambda can have as many of these fitted in-line as necessary and additional units can be incorporated later.
Edale said that a range of modules are available, which are positioned on a sliding platform on the base unit enabling them to be moved along or lifted out and then put back in to a different location for reconfiguration or adjustment.
All modules have every axis independently servo-driven for stability coupled with the capability to handle an array of substrates.
The Lambda can be configured to any single or multiple web paths, making it capable of running multiple jobs simultaneously and enabling organisations to choose their own optimum machine configuration.
As a result, unnecessary investment costs for design and one-off production are eliminated, said Edale.
