Five-Colour UV Press Helps Label Firm's Growth

Based in Tartu it has installed its fourth Edale installation in as many years.

Owing to the success the company achieved with the first Alpha, which was said to far surpass Data Print's expectations, less than one year after Labelexpo 2005, when the company purchased the exhibition five-colour fully-UV Alpha press with cold foiling, it then installed another five-colour fully-UV flexo press.

Priit Utso, managing director and co-owner of Data Print, said: "We gained a lot of new business due to our outstanding UV flexo print quality, just in time deliveries and competitive pricing.

Quick job changes and set-up and the advantage of UV inks are all liked by the operators, reducing their downtime and increasing their production by 20 per cent.

Over the last three years, our business has grown by 70 per cent and we could achieve this within the same factory space by just re-organising the work-flow." And he added: "The Alpha occupies a footprint of 2.5 square metres versus over six square metres for a modular press with the additional advantage of greatly reduced operator movements giving more time to prepare the next job and supervision and optimising of our work-flow." Data Print has developed, in conjunction with its customers, said Edale.

One of its success story required the delivery of a multi-colour printed A4 label sheet for which the two Alphas can use the optional sheet stacker.

Marek Kokk and Kaimar Ilm, both co-owners, in charge of sales and marketing at Data Print, see great potential and many opportunities in the market: "We are not just selling labels, we are offering a total service, including creative ideas and security features.

So it is only a matter of time until the next press will be installed at our factory in Tartu.".
