Workflow and Print Management From EFI
EFI is to present its Oneflow workflow solution and its new Logic SQL management system in the UK at MIS 2004.
It is designed to streamline customer workflows making colour or black and white document distribution easier and more affordable.
Danka, a leading independent provider of copiers, printers and imaging products, had tested and provided valuable feedback to EFI about the new document solution as it was being developed.
The system features a 38cm touch-screen monitor that allows users to preview digital files as thumbnails or full-page images in many industry-standard file formats, including PDF, TIFF and JPG.
Louella van Rossum of Danka Netherlands has put Sendme to the test and said: "Sendme is extremely user friendly with an intuitive, touch-screen interface and on-screen mouse that appears straightforward and simple even before you begin.
Best of all, Microsoft Outlook is conveniently integrated into the solution without requiring extensive user set-up.
From a training point of view, users are up to speed and sending documents in a matter of minutes." It allows users to easily cut, past, copy, highlight, erase and even add comments to documents right at the printer, she added.
The system's scan to e-mail function had impressed her with its convenience and efficiency.
Previously, documents would have been signed and re-faxed, but problems with illegibility and readability of the output often proved irksome.
Continued van Sossum: "Anyone who has received a blurred or unintelligible fax will appreciate the clarity that Sendme offers.
As I am sending an electronic copy of the document, the recipient can forward that same document on without any loss in clarity in the scanned image.
It also means documents don't need to be re-scanned." Sendme easily connects to virtually any manufacturer's Twain-compliant, multifunctional product or scanner.
It is ideal for streamlining workflow that involves the distribution of invoices, purchase orders, applications, forms, reports, proofs, for instance.
For specific applications it also offers usage tracking and data export into accounting systems for accurate billing.
