EFI Looks To Make Drupa Connections

EFI, the digital imaging and print management systems specialist will showcase the productivity and revenue generating benefits of its connected workflow at Drupa 2004.

EFI, the digital imaging and print management systems specialist will showcase the productivity and revenue generating benefits of its connected workflow at Drupa 2004.

It will be demonstrating the new potential that has resulted from its 2003 acquisitions of Printcafe, T/R Systems and Best GmbH.

Amongst the products and workflows EFI plans to show are is 2,000 page per minute (ppm) colour variable data Kodak Versamark printer.

It will be driven by EFI's fastest Fiery workflow and color management system.

EFI will be demonstrating connected workflows with Heidelberg, Dainippon Screen USA and other partners.

The latest version of EFI's Oneflow pre-press software connected to the Balance job distribution software and Fiery servers, will be on show, as well as Micropress black and white production software connected to a Fiery server, in addition to Hagen OA and Printsmith MIS systems connected to EFI's digital workflow.

The company will also introduce French and German versions of Hagen and Printsmith.

JDF connected workflows and cross-vendor applications will include Hagen, Best proofing technology, Oneflow, Balance, Fiery, whilst Internet systems and digital and offset presses will be available.

"EFI offers the industry's only end to end, integrated suite of products from job submission to MIS systems to prepress and production solutions," said EFI Chief Executive Officer, Guy Gecht.

"We are excited to show how printers can increase their bottom line by embracing the concept of connected workflow, whether they are an offset, digital or hybrid business," he added.

EFI will have two stands in hall 4 at Drupa 2004 - B34 and B40.
