EFI is to provide a digital print server to new HP products for professional printing markets.

The company's front-end is based on its Fiery S300 colour print server technology for the high-speed HP Color 9850mfp, a network-ready multifunction product for demanding colour document production.

The server drives the Color 9850mfp at full engine speed offering graphics arts users what the company believes to be exceptional performance, superior colour quality control and the comprehensive Fiery System software, which was named Best Graphic Arts Colour Software in the BERTL's Best 2003 Digital Office Awards.

Key features to the Fiery software include Command Workstation for the management and manipulation of jobs, Colorwise for flexible controls for colour output quality and Fiery Scan for scans that can be emailed, faxed, FTP'd or stored on a local hard drive.

Options for the S300 server include, the Fiery Graphics Arts Package with a comprehensive set of tools, the EFI Color Profiler to enable the creation of ICC profiles for CMYK digital printers and Fiery Docbuilder Pro to edit and assemble entire documents before RIPping the files.

"We are delighted to work with HP to deliver high-quality solutions to demanding customers in the printing market," said Jim Kano, vice president of worldwide OEM Sales at EFI.

"Our newest S300 Fiery technology provides professional print and graphics arts professionals with outstanding productivity, advanced production workflow, industry-leading colour print capabilities and increased consistency," he added.
