Version 6.3 of Micropress, EFI's digital pre-press and production workflow management software for colour and mono printers has been launched.

Micropress 6.3 offers expanded engine support and greater workflow efficiency to maximise productivity and print quality for all print environments from corporate workgroups to high volume print-on-demand operations.

It features new improvements to usability and connectivity to new printers and copiers, and the ability to integrate with EFI Digital Storefront web submission and procurement software.

New automated archiving, advanced document editing and imposition features, and intuitive colour management tools also improve workflow performance and deliver accurate, high quality output, claimed EFI.

Amongst its other features are expanded engine support and improved performance in small job workflows as well as automated archiving and new open job ticket format in Printstation Manager.

There is also a new intuitive colour management interface for quicker, easier control of colour rendering levels and new universal curve format, spot and custom colour editing for achieving precisely accurate colour results.

Its document editing features provide imposition, edge masking and creep capabilities for automating document clean up and improving productivity, said EFI.

Mehran Farimani, vice president of advanced server products at EFI said: "With its advanced scanning, job composition, and production printing capabilities, Micropress offers a powerful post-RIP production workflow that reduces costs and boosts profits.".
