EFI believes it provides a robust and advanced accounting package for estimating, job management, scheduling, purchasing, inventory and fulfilment that allows users to collect, share, analyse and respond to information in real time.
The addition of external e-mail functions and special e-mail triggers expand Hagen OA's communication potential.
Improvements in the job management module include a job 'ship to' function with a more intuitive user interface, the ability to identify multiple product versions and the flexibility to control several types of billable and non-billable shipments said EFI.
Other enhancements include the ability to track freight liabilities and to post freight costs directly to a job.
New options in the estimating module increase user flexibility.
For screen printers there is a new pre-press sheeting option.
The accounts receivable module has been enhanced to include new invoicing functionality utilising summary and detail invoice line processing.
Some new productivity features include automated routines for creating credit memos, a copy routine for contract invoices, a new invoice batch print routine and an automated sales tax option.
With fulfilment there is an automated backorder release program and automatic calculation of fulfilment storage and handling charges.
Additionally, core functionality of the system administration module has been expanded to include taxability options, specifically the ability to import sales tax information from CCH tax tables to increase the accuracy of tax collection and reporting, claimed the company.
"This new release of Hagen certainly raises the bar on functionality and flexibility," said Marc Olin, vice president and general manager of EFI Commercial Print Systems.
"Based on feedback from our customer base, we've enhanced and advanced many key areas of the system to help them run their businesses even more efficiently," he added.
Ted Straus, vice president of operations and technology for Suttle-Straus commented: "Suttle-Straus has been a satisfied Hagen OA user for more than two years.
The system has improved many processes in our plant, but most importantly it has enabled us to increase our sales without additional employees.
We've been beta testing Hagen 8.0 and especially like the new ship-to-data options and the integration with Microsoft Outlook.".
