Logic applications cover every business function, from estimating to billing, order entry to shipping, purchasing, inventory control, finished goods and accounting.
"We're a very tight-run ship and try hard to use automation to the fullest.
We use Logic for estimating, job costing, accounting, inventory, invoicing, job ticketing, and purchasing, relying on all of them because of Logic's integration.
Integration is critical for us because we do things as lean and mean as possible.
With tight budgets, and quicker turn around times, fully computerised integration has become not a convenience, but a necessity.
Customers want to know what's going on, and we want to know what our revenue is at the end of day," said David Ball-Quenneville, estimator and information systems support for Ideal Printing.
Ideal Printing, whose clients are mainly in the banking and advertising industries, uses Logic's inventory module and job costing reports to reduce their time spent tracking work in progress.
All work in progress is now centralised, so one report does what used to take a day or more to put together.
Now, instead of managing the process, the process is being managed in a far more automated sense, said Ball-Quenneville.
"We're not spending our time dealing with collecting and compiling discreet data; the data is already there.
And, if done correctly, data in Logic only needs to be entered once and then it can be proliferated through the various applications, saving time and staff energy," he added.
Ball-Quenneville also said he appreciates the quality of EFI's products and the expert support staff.
"I've worked with other applications, and I've been very disappointed by the number of bugs.
EFI takes a very structured approach to developing its products, so it's a pretty extreme rarity that you're going to see bugs.
The staff is very knowledgeable, and the support and implementation is organised very well," he noted.
