Premium Edition Proofing Extends Colour Management
EFI has launched Fiery Premium Edition software suite of colour proofing and control tools.
EFI has launched Fiery Premium Edition software suite of colour proofing and control tools.
Extending the colour management, proofing, and workflow control established by the Fiery graphics arts package, the Premium Edition is claimed to allow the delivery of superior colour on digital colour presses.
Premium Edition is a key element of EFI's next- generation system software, the new Fiery System 6, launched at Graph Expo said the company, who claimed that no other product offers as much integrated functionality.
"Graphic arts professionals embraced the Fiery graphics arts package, finding it met their needs and anticipated their requirements like nothing they'd ever seen," said Mehran Farimani, vice president of server products at EFI.
"Now, with the Premium Edition, we can empower graphic artists with significant, sophisticated enhancements as well as tremendous efficiency gains.
By continually exceeding expectations, EFI remains the market leader, offering Fiery customers the most comprehensive, end to end solutions," he added.
Premium Edition is claimed to let users adhere to industry standards and simulate the characteristics of other output processes while providing optimal workflow conveniences.
Emulating the Fiery look and feel of the Command Workstation user interface, the Graphics Arts Package, Premium Edition, includes Imageviewer to preview raster files with local and remote soft-proofing and colour editing, including claimed real-time pixel level zoom, for a rasterised job before it is committed to the print device.
Paper Simulation Editor is said to allow users to obtain the most accurate match between the original and the printed output in order to better manage the end customer's expectation of the proof.
The Halftone Simulation feature allows users to print in halftone mode, and to define custom screening functions.
Together with Paper Simulation, it is claimed to provide the most productive and cost-effective solution for halftone proofing in a contone printer device and the ability to obtain a match between the original and the printed output.
In addition there is Configurable Auto Trapping, a Control Bar for job information and user selected colour bars, the Postflight diagnostic tool and Progressives - a diagnostic and preview tool.
Every combination of CMYK can be used to show how images are composed, allowing users to determine the source of any concerns said EFI.
Colour matching with substitute colour reproduces named and custom colours (both RGB and CMYK) and modifies spot colour values to achieve colour matching.
Hot Folders automates workflow by eliminating the repetitive task of configuring multiple jobs.
New filters for Hot Folders allow users to submit jobs in their native file formats without opening the native application and enables seamless Fiery integration into graphic arts workflows claimed the company.
