London prepress company Production Response is providing clients with a more efficient digital proofing service, following the installation of EFI's proofing software incorporating Best technology.
The Fiery Q4500 will also be available for colour production class engines and digital presses.
Also included in the Drupa 2004 server line-up will be the Fiery QX9000, claimed to be the fastest Fiery in the world, specifically designed to drive the new Kodak Versamark 2,000 page-per-minute, full colour variable data ink jet printer.
New features to Fiery System 5.5 include Command Workstation for the management and manipulation of jobs.
It also includes Colourwise flexible colour output controls and Fiery Scan for scans that can be emailed, faxed, FTP'd or stored on a local hard drive.
The new products are also EFI Balance compatible.
The Fiery Q4500 is built to drive colour variable data at full engine speed regardless of print job complexity using dual Xeon Pentium 4 CPUs running at 2.8 GHz and offers support for Gigabit Ethernet networking, calimed the company.
Additional Fiery System 5.5 software features for the Fiery S300, S500 and Q4500 that will be on show include EFI Impose (formally Docbuilder Pro), PDF based imposition to edit and assemble entire documents before RIPping.
Also at Drupa will be the Graphics Arts Package colour management suite, EFI Colour Profiler colour measurement system, and Fiery Web Tools remote workflow management device.
EFI's stands at Drupa 2004 will be in Hall 4 - B34 and B40.
