EFI has been named the overall software partner of the year by Xerox Corporation's production systems group for 2004.

EFI has been named the overall software partner of the year by Xerox Corporation's production systems group for 2004.

Presented at the Xerox business partner conference in Rochester, New York (USA) the annual award recognises the Xerox partner that has contributed most significantly to Xerox and its customers' business success, said EFI.

EFI has been a partner of Xerox's since the 1991 introduction of EFI's Fiery print servers, which now have an installation base of 1.2 million sites globally.

Fiery and Splash servers drive high speed, high quality printers and multi-function devices throughout the Xerox line, including the iGen3 digital press, the Docucolor 8000 and Docucolor 6060 digital colour presses, as well as the Phaser EX7750, which won a Macworld 2005 Best of Show award.

"We're certainly honoured by the award, which follows our earning the distinction last year as well, and we're gratified by its confirmation that Xerox values our relationship as EFI does," said Kim Owen, worldwide director of Xerox sales for EFI.

"We're even more proud of the fact that our joint systems ensure that Xerox customers get the highest quality and productivity from their digital printing devices," added Owen.

Mike Kucharski, the vice president and general manager for the Xerox workflow business team, commented: "Throughout our 13-year relationship, we've worked with EFI to streamline production printing from creation to final output, helping customers benefit from a more efficient process.

The Fiery front ends work with Xerox digital equipment and Xerox workflow products to create a productive and flexible system for print service providers.

With innovative partners like EFI, we're driving the new business of printing for our customers.".
