EFI Looks To Make Drupa Connections
EFI, the digital imaging and print management systems specialist will showcase the productivity and revenue generating benefits of its connected workflow at Drupa 2004.
The software automatically balances large jobs across print devices, splitting colour and monotone pages and routing jobs to the most efficient printers in the group.
With Balance, each engine is utilised to its full capabilities and its finishing options allow increased throughput and faster job turn-around, claimed EFI.
EFI is also exhibiting the latest version 2.3 of its Digital Storefront web-to-print system at the Canon stand.
It is said to simplify print job submission and procurement throughout the order and production process, whilst improving customer service and streamlining print centre operations by integrating the flow of data from initial submission to printed output for optimum efficiency and profitability, added the company.
The full integration between Digital Storefront 2.3 and Balance 3.2 is also being shown on the Canon stand, demonstrating a real life job submitted via the internet and obtaining a print out with Fiery driven Canon printers managed by Balance 3.2.
Xerox reseller DGR will demonstrate EFI's Fiery EXP8000 print controller driving the Xerox Docucolor 8000 digital press.
Operating with EFI's Fiery System 6 software, the EXP8000 is said to allow the Docucolor 8000 to perform on mission-critical, high-end production printing.
EFI's newest proofing product, the client server-based Colorproof XF, will be on display on Bancolini - Gruppo Samor's stand - Pad.24, stand B11/C22.
Bancoloni is a reseller for Lead, who in turn is EFI's Italian reseller.
Colorproof XF is claimed to offer cross-Windows and Mac OS X platform support and compatibility with the current JDF (Job Definition Format) standard for open job ticketing.
It is said to be suitable for commercial printers of all sizes, from newspaper publishers to creative agencies.
