EFI's Colorproof XF achieved winning results at the IPA Color Proofing Roundup, an industry benchmark for proofing devices.

According to EFI, Colorproof XF demonstrated superior performance in the independent evaluation of today's colour proofing market, competing with products from 13 ink jet proofing, soft and other proofing technology companies.

The Roundup judges evaluated soft proofing systems in a competition with testing based on Gracol Characterisation data.

Participants competed in the Delta E Average (Proof versus Press); Visual Image Quality; Spot Colours; Colourimetric Accuracy and PDF/X Compliancy categories.

Colorproof XF, printing on the new Epson 4800 system with EFI Premiumproof 8260 paper, generated a high level of consistency for all measured values for Delta E Average and Peak Combination.

In the Delta E Average test, the EFI product generated below 1 Delta E.

Colorproof XF earned high marks in the Visual Image category and was successful in the pass and fail categories of Spot Colour and PDF/X compliancy as well, said EFI.

Colorproof XF iss aid to be suitable for commercial printers of all sizes, newspaper publishers and creative agencies.

Its open, cross-platform colour management system is claimed to work with any profiling product that creates ICC profiles.

"Colorproof XF's outstanding performance at the IPA Colour Proofing Roundup is a significant achievement.

It is another 'proof point' that our breakthrough modular proofing system is the commercial printers' optimal proofing system.

This competition has truly become the benchmark test for discriminating graphic servies providers who value independent, third-party evaluation," said Ghilad Dziesietnik, EFI's chief technology officer.
