EFI has released the latest version of its web-based Printersite Internal sales force productivity application.

EFI has released the latest version of its web-based Printersite Internal sales force productivity application.

Printersite Internal 2.0 is claimed to make it easier for sales people to submit better quality requests for quotations in a more timely fashion, whilst improving estimator productivity by eliminating re-keying and mistakes.

By enabling cycle time reductions in the quoting process, Printersite Internal can improve a company's ratio of bids against contract gains, claimed EFI.

Printersite Internal 2.0 is an add-on module that is directly integrated with EFI Hagen OA, Logic SQL and PSI Print management information systems (MIS).

Printersite Internal is in use by 70 printing companies in the USA and the new version offers 100 new features and enhancements, including a new user interface, with many of the new features introduced as a direct result of customer suggestions and feature requests, said the company.

Chuck Gehman, EFI's director of product marketing, said: "Printersite Internal 2.0 will be popular amongst our print MIS user community because of the tangible benefits it will provide.

Improving estimator productivity, eliminating mistakes and turning quotes around more quickly are key drivers for printing profitability and this application delivers those benefits." Printersite Internal 2.0 provides a dashboard view of production status for field personnel, eliminating telephone tags to plant personnel, to further improve sales force productivity by keeping sales people actively selling, rather than losing time checking with the factory.

In addition, documents such as letters of quotation, quotation detail reports, job tickets and pro-forma and final invoices are available to field personnel at the click of a mouse, whilst access to documents can be restricted by a new set of security controls built in to the product, said EFI.

Wayne Cochran, of Richmond, Virginia (USA) Worth Higgins and Associates, said: "We've enjoyed the benefits of Printersite Internal for some time now, so we were eager to participate in the beta program for 2.0 this spring.

We were not disappointed.

Printersite Internal has matured with the 2.0 release and includes many new features we had hoped for, plus some additional enhancements we hadn't even thought of.

It's had a powerful influence on how we do things here and there's no doubt it will continue to do so." Printersite Internal 2.0 integrates with EFI's MIS software, exposing the data dictionary of the Hagen, Logic or PSI Print MIS system to the web in a secure way.

Sales people can fill out specification forms via any internet-connected computer, including personal digital assistants (PDAs), whether from the client's office, from their car or from home.

With Printersite Internal, an administrator at a printing company can create any number of on-line specification forms that reflect the type of print products the company produces.

Now with version 2.0, those specification forms can contain graphics and links to company or product specific web-based help systems that make it easier for sales people to input better quality specifications, said EFI.

The forms can also contain collapsible sections so that sales reps can go directly to the part of the form that is necessary for a particular job.

Even custom fields that are unique to an individual company can be represented on the web-based forms, added the company.

A new version of the EFI Printersite internal form designer application, version 6.0, is also included to support the new features.
