The company's agreement with leading standards body, Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association, allows EFI to offer special rates for its dealers and resellers to undertake FOGRA certification training to gain Fogra-EFI Cert status.

The status allows EFI partners to install Fogra-compliant EFI proofing systems and offer customers the option to gain Fogracert Proof Creation certification.

Through this agreement, EFI will offer its German partners a two-day training course, covering latest ISO and proofing standards, Fogra Cert, EFI Paper, and how Colorproof XF should be installed and configured to create proofs that comply with Fogra Cert tolerances, according to the Medienstandard Offset.

The training course culminates in an exam, successful completion of which results in the dealer becoming Fogra-EFI Cert qualified.

Fogra-EFI Cert resellers also have access to special rates for Fogracert Proof Creation.

Resellers can submit a test chart to Fogra to be checked following installation - Fogra will award the Fogracert Proof Creation certification to the proofing user, providing that the results comply with Fogra Cert tolerances.

Several EFI papers have achieved the Fogra Cert Proofpaper Certification, which can be recognised through the EFI and Fogracert logo backprint.

That ensures maximum security in the continuity of test conditions.

Special rates for Fogracert Proof Creation certification are only available when a test is submitted on EFI paper and when EFI proofing systems are used.

EFI's Colorproof XF, integrates the Fogra Media Wedge CMYK control strip, as does Designer Edition.

Colorproof XF has also achieved winning performance results at the 2005 IPA Colour Proofing Roundup in Illinois (USA), which EFI regards as an industry benchmark for proofing devices.

At the roundup Colourproof XF demonstrated superior performance, competing with systems from 13 inkjet proofing companies, said EFI.
