EFI is exhibiting the latest in VUTEk superwide format digital inkjet printing technology and ink at Visual Communication Europe, Paris Expo Center, 20 - 22 September 2006.

EFI will announce a new three-metre addition to its ground-breaking family of VUTEk High Definition supwerwide format printers The VUTEk QS3200 joins the VUTEk QS2000, which will be featured at the show, in a new category of printers that combines EFI's production and workflow management technologies with the market-leading digital print capabilities of its VUTEk superwide format printers

EFI also will announce the new, more versatile, scalable VUTEk 3360 superwide printing platform.

New formulations of BioVu ink optimised for additional substrates will also be on display at the show.

We will not exhibit the PV200 in Paris.

Only a QS2000 and a VUTEk 3360 The VUTEk QS Family of UV-Curing Printers EFI announces the addition of the VUTEk QS3200 to its newest family of UV-curing digital inkjet printers - opening the door to wider printing applications and increased profitability for EFI customers.

The marketplace for 3.2 metre, UV superwide printers is experiencing significant growth world-wide, and the VUTEk QS3200 delivers the highest possible image quality without the traditional trade-off in productivity for Point-Of-Purchase displays, signs and banners.

The 3.2 metre VUTEk QS3200 superwide printer is packed with the same combination of High Definition Print (HDP) technology and high production speeds found in the recently announced VUTEk QS2000 printer, making it the ideal choice for larger print shops with applications bigger than the recently announced VUTEk QS2000 can produce.

The VUTEk 3360 Solvent Printer EFI also announces new configurations and expanded capabilities that have transformed the UltraVu II 3360 product line into the most versatile superwide printing platform available today.

The new VUTEk 3360 is available in three new, lower cost, entry level configurations and is fully field upgradeable, making it easier than ever before for more print shops to step up to the legendary print quality, performance and reliability of a VUTEk digital inkjet printer.

With an optional second ink delivery system, the VUTEk 3360 opens new market opportunities for solvent and dye-sublimation applications at the flip of a switch.

Plus, the VUTEk 3360 superwide digital inkjet printer has been optimised for VUTEk's BioVu ink, offering print-for-pay shops increased methods for generating more revenue in environmentally conscious markets.

With its unique, modular design, EFI's VUTEk 3360 digital printer breaks down traditional barriers to business growth by supporting a wider range of inks and flexible print applications than any other superwide printer.

All configurations are available in entry-level and full production versions, making it more affordable and easier than ever to grow new revenue streams by upgrading to a robust and proven VUTEk printer.

New BioVu Ink Formulation EFI will also showcase the new formulations of VUTEk BioVu ink optimised to achieve excellent colour density and adhesion to a wider range of substrates, increasing the number of flexible applications now possible with this revolutionary generation of environmentally friendly solvent inks.

BioVu is the first solvent-based ink made from a renewable resource (namely, corn), and the only one recognized by the U.S.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

BioVu ink is made from food-grade ingredients, yet delivers all the benefits of traditional solvent inks without the compromises inherent in eco-solvent and aqueous inks.

After a positive first stage of beta testing, the BioVu ink formulation has been optimised to achieve excellent colour density, improved shelf stability and adhesion to a wide range of substrates.

Colour testing shows results with more vivid images, wider colour gamut and dense blacks.

In working with different media suppliers, we have reached very positive results of adhesion to a good selection of banner materials.

The results are outstanding when printing onto pressure sensitive vinyl, papers and textiles.

Improvements will continue throughout the beta stage, with a targeted commercial release in Q4 2006.
