Said to be suitable for those who need to constantly measure test charts and update colour management profiles, the combination of EFI's Bestcolor-driven Colorproof XF scalable client and server-based software and X-Rite's new Eye-One Isis, the automated spectral chart reader, increases speed, accuracy and ease-of-use for customers executing high-end proofing, remote proofing, digital printing, photo processing and fine art printing.

Colorproof XF is claimed to transform inkjet and laser printers in to proofing and production systems.

New features and enhancements launched with Version 3 include a new output option for gravure printers, a new production option for wide format production environments and the Fiery Option, which integrates Fiery-driven digital output devices in to the Colorproof XF workflow.

The X-Rite automatic chart reader is based on the industry standard Eye-One technology and provides precise measurement of reflective test charts, measuring a 1,500 patches target in just eight minutes with an minimum of effort and training, said EFI.

Using the Isis measuring device with Colorproof XF speeds the system set-up process.

Linearisation and profiling, as well as calibration of the proofing system.

Eye-One Isis key features include a measurement speed of 1,500 patches in eight minutes, saving customers' valuable time, as well as switchable UV illumination to capture, and no-filter and UV-Cut filter data in a single measurement cycle, said EFI.

In addition, the XL version (A3+, tabloid format) allows the measurement of charts with as many as 2,500 patches printed on a single A3 (tabloid) page, eliminating the time consuming task of cutting charts and feeding multiple pages.

EFI said that the product also features barcode reading, for chart identification adds further ease of use and error safety and a built-in vision system offers tolerance for how charts are aligned as they are fed in to the system and automatically corrects for misalignment.
