Clean Colour technology is said to provide an eye-catching appearance in all image areas, as well as precise and correct colours where they are needed, such as skin tones, grays and spot colours.
The feature can be run in automatic or custom mode and can even be switched off completely.
Fiery XF's colour management also offers a Full Gamut profile, exploiting the maximum colour gamut of printing equipment, added EFI.
Primary colours are reproduced and colour rendering is not limited by profiles.
Based on EFI's Bestcolor technology and its Clean Colour capability, Fiery XF version 3.1 provides a combination of correct colour reproduction and colour optimisation, it is claimed.
In addition, Fiery XF 3.1 is said to serve a wider range of printing establishments with the new XF Server on Macintosh OS X, providing a cross-platform application for Windows and Mac operating systems.
Fiery XF 3.1 eliminates the need to change to a mixed environment and reduces training time associated with learning new platforms.
Fiery XF 3.1 also includes a font checker to detect missing fonts and prevent type mismatches, a monitor profile selection tool that can turn a profiled monitor in to a soft proofing device.

EFI Fiery XF software's modular structure is also claimed to offer a migration path to increased functions.
Users can add the Colour Verifier Option to ensure consistent colour quality, even on remote sites, or use the EFI Fiery XF software to connect xerographic devices for concept proofs or digital print runs.
