Segnobit purchases UV super-wide printer from EFI

EFI has supplied a Vutek GS Series ultraviolet (UV) super-wide printer to Italian commercial printing company Segnobit in Creazzo Vicanza.

Owner Nicola Cracco bought the Vutek GS3200 for its photo-realistic quality, production speeds and the range of applications it is capable of producing.

The Vutek GS Series printers, which include the 3.2m GS3200 hybrid flatbed and roll-to-roll printer and the 5m GS5000r roll-to-roll printer, were unveiled by EFI a year ago.

According to Cracco, Segnobit is currently running two Vutek super-wide printers.

As the company is growing, it was decided to step up to a 3.2m roll-to-roll and rigid hybrid printer.

She added that the GS3200 enables Segnobit to economically produce shorter runs with expanded regionalisation to a range of non-standard materials, all while carrying lower inventory.

As the company is involved in visual communications and advertising, it specified the GS3200 with EFI's Fiery XF RIP system to achieve accurate colour and to reduce lengthy production times.

EFI said that the Vutek GS3200 complements higher-volume commercial production printers and is a suitable replacement for multiple wide-format and grand-format printers in a single shop.

It offers a speed of up to 2,400ft2 per hour (233m2 per hour) and image quality up to 1,000 dots per inch (dpi).

EFI added that the Vutek GS3200 is flexible and has the ability to change from rigid to roll-to-roll production in less than one minute.

The printer also has capacity to print on an increasing range of traditional and speciality substrates and provides inline, three-layer white printing.

The other product in the GS range, the Vutek GS5000r 5m roll-to-roll printer, is said to provide digital print providers with the ability to efficiently produce applications ranging from exhibition graphics and fine-art reproductions to billboards and building wraps with its dual-resolution capability.

The GS5000r can print in eight colours at 1,000dpi or can switch to Fast-4 and print in four colours at speeds of up to 3,100ft2 per hour (288m2 per hour).
