From January 2003 onwards, all advertising files processed at Sanoma Publishers will need to meet the Certified PDF standard, and to be accompanied by a contract proof.
To ensure successful implementation, Sanoma Publishers teamed up with Enfocus to organise a promotional campaign and educate clients about certified PDF advantages and processes.
In the earlier workflow, many clients were delivering files that were not print ready.
As part of the campaign, Enfocus provided 2.500 CDs containing free trial versions of Enfocus software.
Additional seminars were organised to inform and train their clients on using Certified PDF.
Peter Camps, chief executive officer at Enfocus, said: "As one of the leading publishers in The Netherlands, we're pleased that Sanoma Publishers has chosen the Certified PDF standard for their advertising workflow.
Enfocus Software tools have been recommended to and adopted by hundreds of publishers throughout Europe, helping eliminate errors and save users time and money.
This decision underscores the value and benefits that Certified PDF can bring to the publishing and advertising industry.? According to Reyer van Wagensveld, traffic, production and quality check manager for Sanoma Publishers, certified PDF has brought a high degree of reliability and efficiency to the process.
?Our initial move to digital workflows began with rotary printing, since the direct engraving process requires digital files.
After two years we had achieved 60% digital ad delivery,? said van Wagensveld.
?We made the switch to Certified PDF because we believe it to be a reliable and more universal compact file format, allowing us to combine editorial and advertorial materials in one workflow.?.
