Enfocus Software has signed a worldwide OEM agreement with Vio Worldwide to integrate the Enfocus Pitstop Library with the Vio Certified Delivery (VCD) Agent.

Enfocus Software has signed a worldwide OEM agreement with Vio Worldwide to integrate the Enfocus Pitstop Library with the Vio Certified Delivery (VCD) Agent.

With this new agreement, Vio Worldwide will become the 10th OEM partner of Enfocus.

VCD is a drag and drop facility from the advertisers desktop, incorporating a certified pre-flighting and online delivery process.

The VCD Agent is claimed to work seamlessly with Enfocus to enable users to pre-flight files prior to submitting them to the printer or publisher.

Enfocus said it is quick and trouble-free for a Vio Worldwide customer to benefit from the ease and accuracy of a certified PDF workflow.

The process begins with a single installation of the VCD agent with Pitstop Library.

Vio Worldwide developed a built-in delivery mechanism that offers drag-and-drop for sending files, such as advertisements, to the publisher.

An online verification process checks the ad against the latest library specifications on the publisher's server.

A report is generated if the advertisement passes the pre-flight and corresponds to the publisher's specification for their internal workflow.

If it is in order a job ticket and JDF file are generated and the file is transmitted to the publisher.

A green checkmark on the advertisement viewed within the Vio digital workflow suite interface verifies that it is certified and ready for production.

The combined products provide correction tools within the pre-flight rules written according to application demands.

This integration allows Vio Worldwide users to extend the Enfocus certified PDF workflow to their clients' sites and facilitate effective preflighting services.

An additional benefit is access to certified PDF.net, which allows users to update and source all types of profiles and action lists at the clients' sites.

That is said to ensure that the client is able to conform to the publisher's job specifications.

It is also claimed that Vio Worldwide users will gain increased productivity by receiving pre-flighted files along with JDF-based job tickets, delivered directly to a specified location within their production workflow.

Alan Darling, Executive Vice President of Vio, explained the significance of the partnership with Enfocus Software.

He said: "When the certified PDF workflow is paired with the ability to acquire upstream, industry-standard metadata, it effectively closes the loop between the management of the work and the quality control of the files before the data actually comes through the door.

This is a major achievement." David van Driessche, the chief executive officer of Enfocus Software added: "While Vio Worldwide recognised the importance and value of our individual products, they also spotted the unique add-on value created by our product integration efforts.

We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Vio Worldwide.".
