However, to gain greater operational efficiency, Artwork Systems will be integrating Enfocus's administrative services such as Human Resources, IT and Finance.
Since the acquisition of Enfocus in 2000, Artwork Systems has been putting into place a new business group that taps the technical capabilities of Enfocus certified technology in the Artwork Systems product line.
That will enable both firms to better serve the key business communities serving the graphic arts industry, as well as the large enterprise market the companies believe.
Artwork Systems is already incorporating the Enfocus certified PDF technology as a core technology in its packaging solutions.
Guido Van der Schueren, chairman of the board at Artwork Systems, commented on the integration strategy: "Enfocus certified technology, which defined the PDF format as the defacto standard in the industry, is now a core technology in Artwork Systems' packaging solutions.
Our combined R and D capabilities will create a positive synergy for developing new software." The continuing integration includes organisational changes.
David van Driessche, the current chief exeuctive officer of Enfocus Software, has decided to step down.
Patrick Van Dam has been appointed as executive vice president for worldwide sales and marketing and will be heading the Enfocus business unit.
He will report to Guido Van der Schueren.
Van Dam said he is confident that the centralization of resources will provide the strong base that Enfocus needs for continued growth.
"Enfocus Software has been able to report a significant increase in growth in both revenues and operating income.
With our portfolio of PDF tools, going beyond pre-flight to deliver unmatched PDF creation, auto-correction, advanced editing and automation, we have gained a leading position in our industry.
As an independent business-unit within the Artwork Systems group, we will continue to develop our own successful strategy on product development and marketing and continue to serve our OEM partners, distributors and resellers as before.
This is a positive move for both Artwork Systems and Enfocus Software," said Van Dam.
