Enfocus Software has appointed Saskia Desmet as sirector of international sales.
Enfocus Software has appointed Saskia Desmet as sirector of international sales.
In her new position, Desmet will direct the efforts of the international sales team and manage Enfocus's various sales channels.
She reports to Patrick Van Dam, who has been promoted to executive vice president worldwide.
Desmet will cover worldwide sales with the exception of North America.
She joined Enfocus in 2000 as international sales manager and according to the company, her dynamic management style and personal commitment is greatly appreciated by partners and end-users, resulting in strong sales and enduring partnerships.
Desmet has been closely involved in the foundation of the Ghent PDF Workgroup and continues to be a driving factor in its continuing growth.
She will combine her new Enfocus responsibilities with her current activities in the Workgroup as executive director, where she is in charge of all day-to-day activities, coordinates and schedules workgroup meetings and serves as a focal point for internal communications.
Desmet said: "It is my goal to take our success in existing sales territories to a new level and to proactively build sales in new markets.
Asia is still a large untapped market for us and with the introduction of Japanese language versions of Pitstop, we are steadily increasing our Asian market presence." The company said that plans are underway to appoint a new sales manager who will direct the international sales team's efforts in the Asian market.
The Japanese market is rapidly adopting PDF as the preferred file format in print production and Pitstop Server and Pitstop Library were the first Enfocus products localised for distribution in the Asian market.
Desmet is now also responsible for managing OEM partnerships.
The company said that she will continue its tradition of support and service for partners.
Suppliers such as Agfa, Artwork Systems, Creo, Electronics for Imaging (EFI), Fujifilm, Global Graphics, Heidelberg, Xerox, Vio Worldwide, Xitron and Screen Europe have integrated Enfocus products into their own PDF workflow systems.
In her new position Desmet will continue to focus on expanding strategic partnerships, while maintaining support for Enfocus's network of distributors and resellers.
Van Dam said: "Saskia is a very enthusiastic sales woman with the top-level skills that this position requires.
She has been very successful in her sales region, resulting in robust sales figures.
Her dedicated involvement with the Ghent PDF Workgroup has directly contributed to its growth and success.
She has built excellent relationships with various trade associations and I have full faith in Saskia to bring the same level of success to this new challenge.".
