On Demand Show Sees PDF Editing Software
Enfocus will showcase the newest versions of its PDF tools at On Demand 2007 on stand 650 in Boston from April 17 - 19.
The new versions are claimed to also check and correct on the newly expanded range of functions Adobe brings in its latest version of Acrobat, such as the use of Opentype fonts and new annotation types.
With the latest release of Pitstop Professional, Enfocus has also re-instated text editing of PDF files using embedded fonts.
Previously, the licensing conditions of Adobe Acrobat 6 had forced Enfocus to restrict text editing in its Pitstop Professional 6 version.
As Adobe relaxed its licensing conditions for Acrobat 7, Enfocus was able to reactivate that feature.
The English language version of Enfocus's Pitstop Professional 6.5, is immediately avialable.
Pitstop Professional 6.5 can be downloaded free from the company's website.
Other language versions of Pitstop 6.5 and Acrobat 7 and PDF 1.6 compatible upgrades for Enfocus Instant PDF and Pitstop Server are scheduled to become available in the following weeks and will also be available via free download.
In addition, Enfocus's OEM partners will now be able to integrate a PDF 1.6 compatible version of the Pitstop Library in to their workflows.

These new upgrades to all of our products, engineered specifically to meet graphic arts needs, will allow our customers to do much more than they could with just Acrobat alone," said Patrick Van Dam, Enfocus's executive vice president of sales and marketing.
