Enfocus Software has launched, in conjunction its certified resellers, what will be a series of on-site seminars at leading publishing and printing houses throughout Europe.

The events, which will highlight the capabilities and productivity advantages of Instant PDF 3, are intended to educate both document receivers and creators to ensure streamlined file exchange possiblities.

In conjunction with Enfocus, printers and publishers will invite their primary clients, such as graphic designers and advertising agencies, for a programme of informative discussions on reliable PDF creation and exchange.

At each seminar, attendees will get an in-depth look at Instant PDF - its features, benefits and ease of use and based on what they learn, users will be able to get started with the product right away and quickly see the advantages said Enfocus.

Tom Peire, marketing director at Enfocus Software explained: "From our experience in working with document creators and receivers, it's clear that there are misconceptions at both ends.

Printers are not always aware of the graphic arts knowledge that designers have, based on receiving incomplete files or files that don't process.

Designers often think of printers as being somewhat careless with their thoughtfully planned layouts.

Enfocus Instant PDF optimises communications for both parties, making it easy to implement a smooth production process." The company said that market research indicated that the single largest issue for PDF file receivers is that creators do not make them correctly.

Until now, defining PDF creation settings was a highly technical, user-unfriendly, and often confusing process.

With the introduction of Instant PDF 3.0, Enfocus believes that document creators can now produce PDFs that are virtually guaranteed to print.

The result is fewer costly mistakes, shorter production lead times, and an improved printer-designer relationship.

Instant PDF provides document creators and receivers an efficient way to achieve consistent PDF output and quality control, thanks to certified PDF technology.

The first Instant PDF seminar was held last month, at commercial printer JCB Offset in Belgium and proved very successful with 40 people present said Enfocusa.

Initial responses from participants underscored the value of the event, with Laurent Broze, the managing director at JCB Offset, commenting: "For years we struggled with incoming files and lost a lot of time checking and correcting before we could print.

Enfocus Instant PDF is an indispensable tool that every printer should be promoting to clients.

The PDF creation process becomes so easy with Instant PDF, there's no longer any excuse for not delivering certified files.

I see it as a win-win for both designer and printer." Positive feedback was also received from designers.

As Dominique Pierre from D Pierre Graphisme et Publicite said: "Seeing is indeed believing.

As a designer, I was quite intimidated when dealing with PDF creation settings.

It all seemed so complex.

With Instant PDF, it becomes straightforward and easy, since printer settings are defined by the printer.

By attending the seminar at our printer's, it became very clear to me that using this tool will save a huge amount of time and aggravation." Enfocus Software is now scheduling Instant PDF on-site seminars at printers and publishing houses all over Europe.

Printers or publishers who are interested in organising the seminars at their own locations can contact the company via its website.
