Enfocus's Partnership Brings PDF To RIP Manager

The new Xiflow 2.5, which is now being despatched, incorporates Enfocus's PDF Library technology enabling PDF tools and options.

Utilising the Enfocus Pitstop Library, Xiflow 2.5 users have access to preflight, editing and certification capabilities for PDF documents, believes the company.

The technology is also claimed to support Enfocus Certified PDF workflows used for PDF quality assurance and streamlining print production.

In addition, the two companies announced a special promotional program which is now available until December 31, by which Xitron customers who purchase Xiflow 2.5 will receive a free copy of Enfocus's Instant PDF software, worth $199.

Xiflow was developed by Xitron to serve as a RIP manager for Harlequin RIPs, including those marketed by A B Dick, Agfa, Compose, ECRM, Esko-Graphics, Highwater, Mitsubishi, Presstek, and Screen, as well as Xitron's own Navigator products.

Moving workflow control from the RIP platform to the pre-press operator workstation, Xiflow is said to allow creation of multiple job streams for all job types frequently handled by a prepress department.

Xitron customers can either utilise Instant PDF themselves, or give it to a customer to facilitate the creation of quality PDF files that will travel through a PDF workflow without problems, said Enfocus.
