Ex-Time Workflow Expert Heads Enfocus US Sales
Enfocus has appointed former Time Inc production workflow specialist Erik Cullins as director of sales and marketing for North America.
Enfocus has appointed former Time Inc production workflow specialist Erik Cullins as director of sales and marketing for North America.
Cullins is now responsible for overseeing customer service, product marketing and sales and distribution in North America for Enfocus's PDF software, including Pitstop Professional, the entire certified PDF workflow suite and new Pitstop Automate.
Cullins is said to have substantial experience in graphic arts production workflow and digital development.
At Time he was instrumental in overseeing the publication's migration of all advertisement delivery to PDF/X-1a.
"A vocal proponent of PDF adoption and integration, Erik was one of our primary contacts at Time, which is an Enfocus and Artwork Systems customer.
Our confidence that he will make a perfect addition to our management team is based on this close relationship, as well as our knowledge of his considerable leadership and management abilities," said Patrick van Dam, executive vice president of Enfocus.

He was responsible for helping design, implement, and support editorial and advertising workflows for all Time magazines and those of its partners.
Cullins served as project leader on Time's corporate initiatives, such as its XML-based advertising transaction system, publishing management system, centralised advertising and editorial workflows, virtual proofing, and its on-line advertising portal.
Cullins first joined Time as field operations manager responsible for the printing operations of its west coast (USA) printers.
Prior to that, Cullins worked for Quebecorworld as group supervisor for pre-press, co-managing a 60-person pre-press team at one of the company's printing plants.
Cullins is a speaker at industry events such as Macworld, Vue Point, the Print Workflow Summit, PIA/GATF, the DDAP Conference, Digital Ad Lab, Spectrum, Seybold and the Printmedia Expo.
He is also an active participant in a number of industry organisations, such as the DDAP executive committee and he is chair of the Ide Alliance Space/XML working group and co-chair of the CIP4 advertising working group, as well as the AdsML steering committee and the CGATS PDF/X task force.
At Enfocus, Cullins is also looking forward to contributing to the Ghent PDF Workgroup (GWG).
He holds a BS in graphic communication from California Polytechnic State University and is based at Enfocus's Los Angeles office.
