Print Job Control System Proves Big Draw At Ipex

Enfocus has declared Ipex 2006 a very successful show, with popular demonstrations of the company's new Pitstop Professional 7 and Pitstop Automate.
Enfocus's executive vice president Patrick Van Dam said that the company exceeded its show goal of conducting continuing demonstrations of both products, which are due to be available in May.
Van Dam commented: "I am extremely pleased that the feedback we had from existing customers confirmed that our new version of Pitstop Professional 7 gives them the added value and features they need.
We're apparently on the right track because we continue to attract prospects and existing customers to our flagship product." The company said that the response to Pitstop Automate's new task-based production automation tool was highly encouraging.
The tool is claimed to put design studios, advertising agencies, printers and publishers in complete control of jobs for increased productivity and output consistency.
In addition to positive attendee reaction, a total of four suppliers, two of whom signed on during Ipex, have in the last month committed to integrating their systems with Pitstop Automate.
Ipex discounts for both products will be available through May and, for Pitstop Server customers upgrading to Pitstop Automate, through June.
Ipex also saw Enfocus sign two new partners to its technology partner programme.
ICS will integrate its remote virtual proofing functions and Ultimate its newest imposition application within Pitstop Automate.
Despite having tripled the number of demonstration areas compared with Ipex 2002, Enfocus said at this year's show the company had no choice but to employ technical support workstations to meet the demand for Pitstop Professional and Pitstop Automate demonstrations.
Enfocus estimates that it completed over 700 demonstrations during the course of Ipex 2006.
The demonstrations were not only requested by current customers looking to upgrade to the latest versions but also a number of potentially new customers, as well as vendors that also came to investigate what was new in the Enfocus product range.
Van Dam added: "In fact, at the suggestion of other companies that know us, many vendors came to our stand, in order to evaluate the possibility of integrating our software within their own products; and vice versa, into our PitStop Automate solution." Patrick Van Dam also commented: "For the first time at a show, we shared our stand with Artwork Systems as two separate brands, bringing together our combined portfolios and I am happy to say that we presented a very strong and cohesive exhibit of our capabilities." He concluded: "We have more than achieved the goals we set ourselves and I am very satisfied with the successes we have had at Ipex.".
