New Plug-Ins For Automated Workflow System

Enfocus's technology partners, Alwan, Elpical, ICS, Perfectproof and Ultimate Technologies' plug-ins or gateway systems have been released for Enfocus' Pitstop Automate Workflow.
Yves De Vlieger, Enfocus's associate director of sales worldwide, said: "Since its introduction, our mission with Pitstop Automate has been to provide professionals at all stages in the publishing supply chain with easy-to-use, low-cost automation tools to streamline production without the need for significant capital investment in high-end workflow management systems.
He continued: "We've been fortunate to have great technology partners sharing in the vision of Pitstop Automate for customers and now together we are pleased to have concrete results of these partner relationships.
Enfocus's technology partners with newly-released Pitstop Automate plug-ins and systems include the Alwan CMYK Optimiser, Elpical Image Enhancement Module, ICS Remote Director Virtual Proofing, Perfectproof Proofmaster v3 Integrated Plug-in and Ultimate Impostrip Plug-in.
Partner plug-ins and gateway systems are now available directly via the Enfocus Pitstop Automate installer CD, available from the Enfocus website.
PitStop Automate is described as a task-based production automation tool that allows document printers and publishers to increase productivity and output consistency by introducing automation at what is claimed to be an affordable price.
An intuitive user interface makes is said to make it straight forward to design complete automation workflows.
Pitstop Automate's routing capabilities are said to enable it to guide files through the production process, avoiding the need for human intervention.
The software is also claimed to integrate with Acrobat Distiller and includes Enfocus' PDF editing, pre-flight, and auto-correction, as well as automation, functionality.
An upgrade from Enfocus'a Pitstop Server, Pitstop Automate incorporates certified PDF, Enfocus' technology that iss aid to ensure quality control in file exchange.
Enfocus Certified PDF makes PDF a more powerful production format by embedding the PDF profile originally used to pre-flight the file, said the company.
A pre-flight report and an audit trail of all edits made to the PDF are also created.
Enfocus' Pitstop Automate SDK enables developers to plug-in their own systems to the new automation platform.
