US College Receives 60 Pitstop Licenses

Sixty Pitstop Professional PDF user site licenses have been donated to Cal Poly University's Graphic Communication Department (USA) by Enfocus.

Pitstop Professional's PDF editing and industry standards-compliant pre-flight capabilities are claimed to allow quality checking and last minute corrections.

Global change and action lists offer automated modifications to a document and the software embeds the quality status in the file for file exchange.

Harvey Robert Levenson, the department head of the Graphic Communication Department at Cal Poly State University, said: "This is a tremendous donation to Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Department, for which we are grateful.

Our students will benefit greatly from the contribution, as many are already familiar with the important role that Pitstop plays in the graphic communications industry.

Erik Cullins, Enfocus's director of sales and marketing, commented: "We are pleased to continue to support Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Department, one of the country's most prestigious graphic arts educational institutions.

Cal Poly graduates are consistently well-prepared for their careers in our industry.

This is clearly a result of the outstanding education they receive from Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Department.

Cal Poly's Graphic Communication Department is the largest in the western United States with 33,000 square feet of laboratories.

The department has one of the largest industry support programmes in graphic arts education with the vast majority of its equipment and facilities having been donated by industry, said Enfocus.

Founded in 1946, the department maintains an enrollment of approximately 330 students pursuing a bachelor of science degree in graphic communication with concentrations on printing and imaging management, electronic publishing and imaging and design reproduction technology, packaging graphics and individualised study in graphic communication.

The department also offers a graphic communication minor and an MBA with a specialisation in document systems management through the Cal Poly Orfalea College of Business.
