Prestige Fold Net 52 from MB is for medium-size formats, which, for the first time, incorporates complete automation including the feeder to the delivery section said Encore.

It has an Ethernet interface, enabling integration in to in-plant networks.

That means that data transfer for machine set up and real time registration for recording operational data is now possible.

Manual intervention is reduced to a minimum because the positions of all the setting elements are calculated, through a central touch screen panel and set automatically, to an accuracy of 0.1mm, under computer control, claimed Encore.

CIP3/CIP4 compatibility provides access to a fold type catalogue.

It is further possible to save the setting data of more than 200 jobs in a program memory.

The benefits derived are claimed to be extremely short set-up times, a minimum of waste and simple operation.

The Fold Net 52 machines are expandable and available with one, two or three fold units.

Encore will also be demonstrating the MB SRA3 CAS35/2 folder, which brings automation and increased productivity to small format customers, it said.

Mike Biggs, the managing director of Encore Machinery, said: "Set up time can be up to 75 per cent quicker than on manually set folders, making large savings in set up time.

They can also be run with less skilled operators than conventional manual folders, giving further savings." Also on display at Northprint will be the latest super high speed Pit Stop digital creaser and perforator that is claimed to operate at up to 8,000 sheets an hour which, Encore believes, is over three times faster than competitors' models and is suitable for quick set up and fast turnaround in the digital environment.
