Folder Makes Gate Folding Easier And Faster

An Encore Machinery product story

MB has developed a gatefold plate for Prestige Fold Net folder, which is distributed in the UK by Encore Machinery.

MB has developed a gatefold plate for Prestige Fold Net folder, which is distributed in the UK by Encore Machinery.

Unlike conventional gate fold units, which usually require a wired in control box and a photocell on the previous fold plate, all the electronics are built in to the new MB plate, said Encore. That means that all the operator has to do is slot the plate in to the machine and the folder immediately recognises in what position it has been fitted.

Using the touch screen control, the operator selects the type of fold and the paper size.

No further intervention is required because the Prestige Fold Net 52 automatically works out the timing and the roller pressures, added the company.

Mike Biggs, the managing director of Encore Machinery, said: "It only takes a few seconds to set up, which is very useful.

Added to that, with the automated set up, the first sheet is perfectly folded, which is almost unheard of with gate folding." The prestige Fold Net medium format folder incorporates complete automation from the feeder to the delivery section and has network capability, said Encore.
